Letterpress is DONE!

We've finally finished the letterpress task (making one page of a magazine with the typeface Klang) today. Six people working together, trying to design and organize things has been a bit hard but now we've done it. 400 times we have rolled the sheets through the machines (200 for the black and 200 for the orange dot). No more gym this week.

Out and About with FdA part 2: Typography

This morning we visited St Bride Library which "collections cover all aspects of printing—paper and binding; graphic design, typography, typefaces and calligraphy; illustration and printmaking; publishing and bookselling; and the social and economic side of printing and its allied trades."

We had a one and a half hour lecture with Nigel Roche, head Librarian and specialist in subject of typography. It was very interesting and the library itself seemed very cool and interesting. Definitely worth a visit if you're interested in one of the subjects they cover.

Out and About with FdA part 1: PPD

Yesterday we had a walk around Farringdon and Old Street. This area is full of different creative agencies and our task was to go around to some of them, have a quick chat, take a photograph and ask for a business card. It was very cool, most of the people were busy working but still very friendly. I wish we would have known about the task before we got there, because then we could have made some research about which agencies we wanted to visit. Anyway, it was a great experience and most of the places were very cool. So much looking forward to (and hoping I will) work in one of them one day.

5 Creative Agencies in LDN

& SMITH

Studio 8 Design

COLT

THEM

I Love Dust

These five agencies have all got some amazing work. I especially like the five work pieces above because of their modern and quite minimalistic style with great typography and colours. They all look very professional and aware of what they are doing. What a dream to work in one of them one day.

More, More Postcards

Did it WRONG again. I'm supposed to do only landscape postcards. Not bloody portrait ones.
